OCTOBER 2016
We were all saddened last month when our sister in the LORD and fellow coworker, Eileen Pressler, suddenly passed away. She leaves behind her husband Bob, 45 years together in marriage, and four children who all live in the USA. She and Bob have served as missionaries in Sarajevo for nearly 17 years, during which time they pioneered an international church, another church for Iranian refugees and their lasting legacy the pro-life center “LIGHTHOUSE’.
Bob and Eileen were instrumental in helping us launch our church when we arrived into Sarajevo three years ago, and have been faithful members and supporters ever since. Robert had the honor of officiating the funeral.
Last week Bob asked Sandrina if she would become the new director of the pro-life center and ministry. Please pray for Bob as he continues life without Eileen at his side, and also for Sandrina as she takes on this new responsibility of further developing the pro-life ministry.
The homecoming celebration of Eileen was attended by many local believers and unbelievers, Bosnian pastors and fellow missionaries alike.
ROADTRIP TO CROATIA AND GERMANY
This last month we took a road trip to Banja Luka in northern Bosnia to visit a pastor friend of ours. The following day we traveled on to Zagreb, capital city of Croatia, and visited Jerry Low who with his wife Zuzanna lead a prayer ministry called the Upper Room.
Our final destination was Esslingen, Germany, where we attended a conference at the church of Ise and Hrvoje Sirovina. We were so thankful for their invitation to come for their annual conference. The main speakers were Robert Henderson and Patti Amsden. We were especially blessed to fellowship with so many Bosnians who are members of their church – encouraged to see a new generation of Bosnian believers being raised up in the Kingdom of God.
Also, the ice cream shop (pic above), owned by members of the church, was amazing!
TEAM FROM THE REFUGE (USA)
We were blessed by a team from our home church THE REFUGE, which is located in Kannapolis, North Carolina. A lot of prayer, worship and visiting the believers in their homes – truly a refreshing time for us individually and as a fellowship after a rough couple months.
