OCTOBER 2014
DOBRINJA MINISTRY CENTER
We have continued the renovating of the Dobrinja Ministry Center and greatly appreciate the financial gifts donated so far – however, $2000 / 1600 EURO is still needed to purchase the furnishings and equipment for the center to be operational. While we have held weekly Wednesday night prayer meetings over the last couple months at the center, we are looking to begin Sunday morning worship services starting November 16th.
Sandrina and our co-worker Gina (seated on right) recently spent an evening with two of the young ladies from our fellowship for a candle-light dinner. They were deeply touched by the invitation and greatly enjoyed the experience – they had never had a candle-light dinner in their honor before. Discipleship is not just something taught in a church meeting, but something demonstrated in the home, where the Spirit of the Lord can minister in a natural way. In Bosnia, the simple things can be the most impressionable.
MINISTRY TRIP TO SWEDEN
Robert traveled to Sweden for a five day visit this month with a dual purpose:
1) To attend a workshop with the leadership team of the Swedish organization FOCUS BUSINESS SCHOOL (FBS), which is an entry level study into business for entrepreneurs. The curriculum is based on Biblical concepts and principles for managing and developing the financial opportunities life brings to us. We are in the process of translating the materials into the Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian language dialects with the goal of training teachers in the spring of 2015 and beginning the course in the Fall of 2015. With 44% unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the opportunity is ripe to invest hope into people’s lives for their future.
2) To minister at HOPE Vetlanda Church, led by pastors Patrik and Kiki Olofsson. It was a joy to visit them for the first time and see the POWERHOUSE Youth Center, a project they operate in partnership with their city. Very impressive on their usage of the facility – outdoor and indoor skateboarding, movie room, cafe, ping-pong and pool tables. Hundreds of youth in Vetlanda have been active at POWERHOUSE and many lives have been changed with the power of the Gospel.
SPECIAL GUEST
We were honored to have Grethe Stanley (from Australia), truly a spiritual mother in the Balkan nations, to minister at our Pofalici Campus in Sarajevo. Grethe is the founder of the women’s conference DAUGHTERS OF THE KING / KRALJEVE KĆERI held throughout the Balkan nations.
The ladies in the meeting gathered in prayer for Grethe that the Lord would continue to use her in a mighty way among the women of the Balkan nations.
